Maison du monde
A small fashion boutique in the historical center of the city of Salerno.
The boutique was spread on two levels with the second or upper level being very small. The key ask was to maximise space for the display of fashion clothing and, most importantly, make them all visible and stand out in order to increase sales for the boutique.
Due to the fact that there were visible gas pipes running throughout, we based the restoration on the theme of recycling. That is, we transformed the old gas pipes running along the walls as stands for the clothes. We maintained this theme by using an old wooden reel previously used for cables as the main sales counter and by using recycled pallets throughout as stands.
We also stripped down the walls to reveal the underlying natural stone bricks.
By including a magnificent chandelier, the contrast was perfect and, more importantly, provided the right lighting for the whole boutique.
